The HT6221 is a CMOS-based remote control encoder IC designed for infrared (IR) transmission applications. It encodes key inputs into a serial data format and modulates them with a 38kHz carrier frequency for IR transmission. It supports up to 32 key inputs (with a 4x8 matrix configuration) and includes features such as power-saving standby mode and a built-in oscillator.
